Athens, Alabama May 23, 2020 ~ Steven J. Scheinin Day 1314 Athens, Alabama, named after the city in Greece, was incorporated in 1818, one year before the State was admitted to the Union. We went to Athens, but it was closed. Even the Church was refusing sanctuary. We hiked along Swan Creek, a Tributary of the Tennessee River. This is the first time in months we have been able to hike. It was a beautiful pleasant day.
