Maryland Zoo May 25, 2024

The last time I was at the zoo in Maryland was when Arthur Watson was the director of the Baltimore Zoo and it was free admission.

Tickets are now $27.00 ($24.00 for us old people). I went there today with my family. A lot of the park was under construction.

Back in the day when you entered the park the first thing you saw were the lions. You could get pretty close to them, and had to watch out they didn’t grab you. Unfortunately, too many dumb people got eaten. Now the lions are in the middle of the park. First there is a wooden fence, then a medal fence, then a stone wall, then a moat,

and finally you can see the lions.

Although I did not see any hippopotamus, most of the other animals were there:

They even had these horses, recently released from prison.

They were taking attendance when we saw the penguins:

     I measure this giraffe’s tongue at 18″:

They had crocodiles there, which are not native to the United States, but no alligators, which are.

They did have new creatures there, like the golden frog:

And the Saddled-billed stork:

Oh, the good old days when we drank out of a garden hose.

I did catch this human leopard, without her front tooth.

A great time was had by all.

     Well, see you later.
